An Exciting Honeymoon It Is...Dream Day Honeymoon!
I love wedding and honeymoon stories. My honeymoon was spent in Manhattan. I could only get two days off from work back then, so we decided to stay local. We totally needed the break, too ... we planned our whole wedding in just 40 days – and it was a big white wedding too! I think we spent most of the honeymoon sleeping, lol. We left the hotel only once, and that was to get dinner. I smartly booked under my maiden name, so nobody would disturb us.
I give kudos to Oberon games for making games like Dream Day Honeymoon, that really appeal to us women gamers out there. Dream Day Honeymoon picks up where the first game, Dream Day Wedding, leaves off. Jenny and Robert are now married, and setting off on their tropical honeymoon. Lucky couple! While they're away, Jenny sends you postcards and photos of her trip, and these become the scenes for the hidden object hunts.
Dream Day Honeymoon isn't really a “casual” casual game. Like most hidden object games, it takes a while to beat, so expect to play for at least a few days. Out of all the hidden object games I've played, this one is one of the more difficult. The objects are very well hidden, sometimes too well! Things are not always drawn to scale, so its easy to overlook an item if you have a preconceived idea of what it should look like. Luckily, you get hints at each level, plus you can earn more hints by finding love birds in the scenes. If you want to play without the timer, you can select “carefree mode” (under options). This makes it a bit easier. There are a lot of good mini games to play in between levels, most of which are similar to those found in Dream Day Wedding.
I have to admit, after becoming a big fan of the first title, I was a tiny bit dissapointed this time around. Don't get me wrong – it's a great game - but it lacked some of the depth that the first one had. For example, I felt there was a lot less story, and you're much less involved in the plot. Maybe a honeymoon just isn't as exciting as a wedding to most people, with the exception of the bride and groom!
I'd recommend playing it with a family member or friend, so you can help each other along on the difficult parts. I love to play these games with my husband, after we tuck the kids in bed. He's become a surprising fan of this genre. For a guy who exclusively liked shooters and strategy games, I think that says a lot about the versatility of these titles.
