Wedding Dash 3: Ready, Aim, Love Review

It's got all of the same game play elements of the first, but some tasks have been improved, and more things were added. There are NO choking uncles (thank goodness), and it's easier to figure out what the couples want for their weddings. The pace is perfect, and it's a long game too. Even the story is good. I really enjoyed playing.

This is the best of the Wedding Dash games.

Youda Legend: The Curse of the Amsterdam Diamond Review

The graphics are very detailed and beautiful. It does seem a lot like Amsterdam! With no penalties or time limits, it's not too difficult, although the objects are well blended into the crowded scenes. It's short, though...I was able to beat in in less than 3 hours.

This is Youda's first HOG. Usually they make quirky time management games and building sims like Youda Marina and Youda Baby Blimp.

HERE'S WHAT'S WORKING FOR ME ...

1. Avalon. It's like Virtual Villagers, but with fairies. The game runs in real time, so it's a bit of a slower pace than many other games, but it's still addictive and entertaining. Not to mentioned beautiful – as you'd expect from a game about fairies, it's extremely pretty, with beautiful fantasy inspired music to match. Wow.

2. The Game of Life Deluxe. Brilliant board game, and brilliant pc game. This is so much fun, and you can play against the computer or with family and friends. Everything is animated, and there are a few new minigames like scratch off tickets. It manages to be just like the board game, but even more interactive. Definitely cool if you're a board game fan.

... AND WHAT'S NOT

This was a great week for casual games, so it was tough picking one I didn't like.

1. Rangy Lil's Wild West Adventure. I was put off after the husband hit his wife over the head and kidnapped the kids. Those sorts of stories make me uncomfortable! Granted, it's not quite as blunt as Heartwild Solitaire, and the HOG game play is alright. It's just not as lighthearted as I would have liked.

Hollywood Tycoon Review

I thought this game was pretty fun. You pick the different movies and actors, and build up your sets and resources. The whole goal is to make money in order to advance. It's a lot like Fairy Godmother Tycoon and other tycoon games. It can be repetitive, but there is lots to do. Very hectic game play, that's for sure.

It needs more actor and actress sprites, since they repeat a lot.

Art of Murder: FBI Confidential Review

Creepy stuff. It's a dark mystery, with great voice acting and a heavy atmosphere. The logic puzzles are sometimes not-so-logical, which tends to be a problem in point and click adventures like this one. It reminded me of the CSI and Law & Order games. I found it tough, but interesting.

Be forewarned, if you dislike cursing and swear words, you will find them in this game.

Sunset Studio: Love on the High Seas Review

Although I'm picky about HOGs, I thought this was a good one, with clear items and great graphics. The story is also pretty good too, and the cutting room minigame is a lot of fun. In the minigame, you have a short period of time to find the same object in multiple scenes. It's tricky. The only downside is that you visit the same location a lot, so it can get repetitive. The music also repeats too much.

Obviously, Titanship = Titanic, so it's a game about making the Titanic movie (sort of).

Rangy Lil's Wild West Adventure Review

The topic is pretty uncomfortable. As a Mom, I must admit, I cringe at stories that involve kidnapped kids or children in danger. In this case, the sleazy ex-husband kidnaps the children after whacking the heroine over the head, and she goes trekking across the desert to find them. If you can get past that, the HOG components are easy and repetitive. The graphics are alright, and the music is pretty good.

I kept thinking of Heartwild Solitaire – a solitaire game about domestic abuse and womanizing. Yikes! Certainly not light hearted entertainment, eh?

The Game of Life Deluxe Review

It's just like the original board game, but with a few new twists. For example, there are lawsuit squares, where you compete against the other player in a memory game. There are also a bunch of other simple minigames, like scratch off tickets. You can play against the computer, or against a friend. The graphics are great, fully animated and funny.There are different ways to play, so you can compete to score the most life goals, or else play the simple board game. Love it!

I've been waiting for a version of Life to come out. It's my favorite board game...second only to Monopoly, which has been done so many times.

Big Brain Wolf Review

It's really very clever. You get word puzzles, shape puzzles, spacial tasks, number puzzles, etc...all embedded in an adventure game context. The logic puzzles are all extremely interesting, and challenging. There's plenty of humor, too. I'd say it's more for adults than kids, as the humor might go over some children's heads, and it helps if you have played chess before.

Even with hints, this is a tough game to beat. It helps to have a walkthrough, or else you must be very persistent.

Quilting Time Review

Wow, this is different. You have to make patterns on a quilt, which is a lot tougher than it sounds. It's totally addictive, yet also challenging. I had trouble beating the speed mode, but it's still fun to play... It's sort of like tetris, if you are into that sort of game.

Grandma's voice is a bit youthful, don't you think?
