Bookworm Adventures 2 Review

I beat the original game a while ago, but still have it on my pc and play once in a while. The sequel is very good, with more flexibility in the word puzzles. It's really cute. You put together words, like Boggle, and this allows the bookworm to advance. While you play, you also beat bosses and manage your health stats, so there is an RPG component, although the word game is primary. Great game, all around.

It's addictive. :) Be warned.

Hotel Mogul Review

Build-a-Lot meets Desperate Housewives...talk about a rough story! Lynette's husband is leaving her after just a month, and he swindled her out of her business. Her best friend is also her lawyer, and she screws up the contract. The story has a lot of twists. As for the game play, it's interesting and plenty hectic, but not as deep as Build-a-lot.

The story is the most interesting part of the game.

Burger Shop 2 Review

This game has clowns that put mustard on their ice cream, naked dudes that upset everybody, and all kinds of assorted funny business...it's just crazy. And it's fast paced, too. This game is awesome! It's a hectic time management game, where you make all kinds of fast food with funny gadgets on an assembly line. There are so many levels, so the game play is long. The story is funny. I liked the first, but this is even better.

Better than the first Burger Shop, which was also a great game.

DinerTown: Detective Agency Review

It's not a time management game – it's a hidden object game starring Flo and Bernie the Bookworm. Not bad. You search for objects in the crime scenes, use detective tools (fingerprinting kit, magnifying glass, etc), play minigames, and then interrogate suspects by using clues you've uncovered to narrow them down. The length is good, and the different environments and situations are cute. Interrogating the suspects is a bit repetitive. It's balanced by some pretty good minigames, though. You can play in relaxed mode if you don't want pressure.

LOL – the economy must be slow if Flo has given up restaurants to become a detective. Yikes.

Jane's Zoo Review

Feed the animals. Keep them clean. You know the drill. It's a time management game with several minigames that come up as you play. On the upside, it's challenging, and fast paced. The only thing I didn't like was that it seemed a bit childish. The graphics, the fact that the animals do silly things like lift weights and play badmitten...it seemed more like a kids game, but it's too tough for kids.

You have to admit, Jane really has a lot of jobs. Sort of like Flo...

Legacy announces new video game, Ghost Whisperer, at Comic Con!

Hi Friends!

Legacy made quite the buzz when they announced their new upcoming TV licensed video game, Ghost Whisperer: Shadowlands, at Comic Con this past weekend. Jennifer Love Hewitt and the entire cast of Ghost Whisperer signed exclusive posters designed by Legacy Interactive. Jennifer Love Hewitt even mentioned it during the show's press conference. I have posted some of the press release below along with some pictures from the event at Comic Con.

Available in early 2010, Ghost Whisperer: Shadowlands will debut on the PC and include characters and themes from the hit television series. Players will take on the role of Melinda Gordon, a young woman living in Grandview, N.Y., who has inherited the gift of being able to see and communicate with the dead. These earthbound spirits have unfinished business in our world preventing them from "crossing over" into the light. While trying to live as normal a life as possible with her paramedic husband, Jim, and as an owner of the antiques shop, Same As it Never Was, Melinda helps ghosts find resolution and pass over to the other side.

With its stories penned by Emmy award-winning television writer Lance Gentile, Ghost Whisperer: Shadowlands combines light adventure and hidden object-style game play where players need to help the recently departed move on to the afterlife and provide closure to loved ones left behind. Gamers must collect objects for their inventory to solve challenging puzzles while unraveling the mysteries of five enthralling stories with more than 30 hauntingly beautiful environments.

Mystery Masterpiece: The Moonstone Review

What's really neat about this game is that the objects are placed logically in the scenes, so you can look for things where they would naturally belong. It's a good hidden object game (and fairly typical), with a clever story, and clear graphics. The adaptation of the original story is excellent. Even the music is from the time period, which really sets the atmosphere.

This game is based off of the first mystery novel by Wilkie Collins (1868), which is often considered a precursor to mystery novels like the Sherlock Holmes books.

Defenders of Law: The Rosendale File Review

Play in relaxed mode ... it's more fun that way. The hints take a long time to reload, and aren't always clear. However, it's a really great concept. You have to examine what you've found and then defend your client in court every 2 chapters. If you mess up on the evidence, the judge sends you back. Neat idea. The objects are challenging to find, but the graphics are good.

I love the idea of defending your client in the courtroom. That's the best part in this game.

This Week At Legacy...

HERE'S WHAT'S WORKING FOR ME ...

1. My Kingdom for the Princess. I'm addicted! The rules are simple, but there is so much strategy involved too. Westward + Build-a-Lot + love story = this game. You gather resources like wood and gold and food, and you use them to build up structures and clear a pathway through each board. There are lots of different challenges, so each level is different. I am going to get my family to play it now, because they're wondering what is eating all my time. :)

2. Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy. It's a “Horror HOG.” Okay, that ghostly image of Poe on the ad is creeping me out... The story follows the real life of Mary Rogers, who was a murder victim in 1841 and whose murder was never solved. Poe wrote a fictional story about her called "The Mystery of Marie Rogêt", which was the sequel to his detective story "The Murders in the Rue Morgue."

3. Megaplex Madness: Summer Blockbuster. Serious caffeine is needed to play this game. It's a quirky and outrageously fast-paced time management game in a movie theater. It runs smoother than the first, and it's ridiculously tough.

... AND WHAT'S NOT

1. Jane's Zoo. Don't hire Jane – she changes her career like most people change underwear. This time she's a zookeeper. You rush around trying to get the animals in the right place at the right time, playing minigames to bath them and care for them, and helping them do things like play tennis and lift weights. Yup. The speed is good, but the theme and how it's presented is just too childish for many adults.

My Kingdom for the Princess Review

Okay, I'm addicted. MUST...beat...game. I played the whole thing over the weekend (it's like 10 hours long), and now I'm trying for the maximum castle upgrade. You gather resources like wood and gold and food, and you use them to build up structures and clear a pathway through each board. There are lots of different challenges, so each level is different. My husband to play it now, too. :)

It's kind of like Westward, or Build-a-Lot, or some combination of the two...but it's really unique.
